About Us
We started roasting coffees in 2003, as a hobby in our basement (literally, in our basement). Our hobby became a business for us in 2005, when we licensed our first roasting location with the state of Minnesota. At first, we had a small roaster, with a five pound per batch capacity, and we set it up in a rented space no larger than a large walk-in closet.

Within 6 months, we worked out our business plan, developed a strong initial following, invested in a 15 kilogram/33 pound roaster, and leased space in a new location. Our 15 kilo Millennium roaster, built for us by US Roasters Corp of Oklahoma City, OK, is a gem of roaster, producing some of the cleanest, fullest tasting coffees we've ever tried.

We realized very early on that our business will only develop and grow as our wholesale customers' businesses develop and grow.

In 2009, we partnered with another local business to form Cafe 116 in Fergus Falls. We managed the coffee-focused beverage program that was unique in offering signature drinks, a stellar espresso program, and a pour over coffee bar. Though no longer a partner, Cafe 116 continues to proudly serve our coffees in addition to their homemade breakfast items, soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts.

In September, 2014, we opened Stumbeano's Coffee Bar in the lower level of the historic Loretta Building, 210 Broadway. Our bar serves as a "tap room" of sorts, offering select coffees and teas, various brew methods, and limited food items (namely, toast, bars, and oatmeal). We will also host community education events and welcome you and your staff for training and education.

We continue to build relationships with other businesses based on the fact that we love the coffees we are roasting and we want others to enjoy them, too (thank you, Bill Waddington, of TeaSource for that phraseology, as that is what inspired him, as well, to do what he loves to do in following his passion for teas). Though we are well into this wonderful journey, we still want to learn more about coffee!

This year we celebrate 10 years in business!
