Our farm is 85 acres of mostly woods and wetlands in southern Todd County. We see deer, turkeys, foxes, skunks, rabbits, and raccoons, as well as lots of birds. We've added wildlife plantings through the years for beauty and to enhance food and shelter habitat for animals, bees, butterflies, and other insects.
We raise Tetra Brown and Ameraucana (egg layer) chickens, Icelandic sheep, and vegetables on our 85 acre farm north of Sauk Centre, using non-GMO feeds and seeds, and sustainable methods. Our chickens run in their 1/2 acre pen everyday, spending the nights in a chicken coop moved from Dan's home farm. Our sheep are pasture raised, eating grass hay in the winter. We grow produce in our one acre garden, including heirloom dry beans and heirloom Mandan Red flour corn. I grow most of my own vegetable transplants and use no manufactured chemicals in the garden.
